Ask Light
Brief the canvas agent in plain words, and choose whether its shots wait for you in Review or start on their own in Create.
Brief Light the way you would brief a designer, and it puts the work on your board. Light is the agent on the canvas. Ask for "a kurta catalogue on a plain studio backdrop, six looks", and Light picks a model, writes the prompts and places the shots.
If you start from the box on canvas home, Light already has your sentence when the canvas opens. On an open canvas, keep talking in the Light panel on the side.
What you can ask for
Light makes images. Ask for a new still, or for an edit that uses images already on the board.
Light edits and merges images. It lines up the reference images in order, and the first one is the image being changed. In a prompt, @Image1 is the first reference, @Image2 is the next, and so on. Each model has its own limit on how many references it takes.
Light makes video. It can turn text into video, turn an image into video, or build a clip from several references, such as a character, a product and a style. See Generate video.
Light can add a text note or edit one.
Light can tidy the layout and move the view to a node. You can do both yourself too. See The board and Shortcuts.
Light uses skills. Type / to call a skill by name, or let Light pick one. Light can also write a new skill for you with /create-skill. See Use a skill and Create a skill.
Review or Create
The menu next to the send button sets how Light hands work back to you.
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| Review | The default. Light places the shots on the board with the model and cost showing. Nothing runs until you press Run. |
| Create | Generations start on their own as soon as Light places them. On a free plan you can pick Create, but you still run each shot yourself. |
When Light places two or more shots in Review, press Run all to start the whole set at once.
Use Review while you are still shaping the idea. Switch to Create when you trust the brief and want the board to fill up.
Stop
While Light is working, the send button turns into a square stop button. Press it to end the reply. Anything Light already placed stays on the board.
What Light sees
Light reads the board as well as your message. Select images before you ask, and they show up as chips above the composer, so Light knows which ones you mean. Remove a chip to leave that image out.
With vision on, Light gets the selected images themselves, up to 10 of them. With vision off, Light works from their descriptions.
Daily limit
Free accounts get a set number of Light messages a day. When you reach the limit, the panel tells you and offers an upgrade for unlimited chat. This limit is separate from generation credits. See Credits.
