Voice

Speak your brief to Light. Hold Option to dictate, or double-tap Option to go hands-free.

You can say your brief out loud instead of typing it. Talk through the shots for your brand film, and Light gets the words in its composer. To see the keys, hover the microphone button on the composer.

Hold to talk

With a canvas open, hold Option on Mac, or Alt on Windows and Linux. Speak, then release. Your words appear in the Light composer.

A short tap does nothing, so hold the key long enough to say a phrase.

To cancel while it is listening, press Escape. Light drops the words.

Hands-free

Double-tap Option or Alt within about a second, and Light keeps listening until you stop it.

To stop, double-tap Option again, or click the microphone button. Escape cancels without inserting the transcript.

Use hands-free for a longer brief. Use hold to talk for one sentence.

The microphone button

The microphone button on the composer turns hands-free on and off. While Light is transcribing, the button shows a spinner and ignores another click. A level meter appears while the microphone is open.

The first time you use voice, the browser asks for microphone permission.

Where else it works

The same Option or Alt keys work in the comment box on a shared review. There they insert into the comment, not into Light.

Voice never runs a generation by itself. It fills the composer, and you still send the message.
