Chromatic MCP

Connect Chromatic to Cursor, Claude, Claude Code, or Manus and make images and video from the chat you already use.

Chromatic runs as an MCP server, so you can ask for images and video from the AI tools you already work in. Every shot appears on a Chromatic canvas in your account, and credits come from the same wallet as the website.

The mcp-setup page has the address with a copy button and the steps for each app.

Connect

Cursor

Open Customize, then MCP, and add the address. You can also put it in .cursor/mcp.json.

Claude

Open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the address and connect.

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http chromatic https://mcp.chromaticlabs.co/mcp

Manus

Open Settings, then Connectors, then Custom MCP. Paste the address and save.

Each app then opens Chromatic in your browser. Sign in with your Chromatic account and you're connected. You don't copy an API key.

Ask for a shot

Write the way you would to Light, like "a 4:5 product shot of the green sneaker on paper" or "turn that into a 6 second video". The app calls Chromatic for you.

Each chat gets its own canvas. The first shot in a chat makes a new canvas and names it. Later shots in that chat go on the same canvas, so you can open it on the website and keep going.

Edits start from what's already on the board. Ask to change a finished image and the app uses it as the reference, so you don't upload it again.

Finished images can drive a video. One image can be the first frame. On models that support reference video, several images can go into one clip.

You can bring your own files too. The app can upload an image from your computer or from a public link. Images can be up to 20 MB.

To start a generation through MCP, you need a paid plan or a credit top-up. Welcome credits work on the website, not through MCP.
