Notes, sketches, and audio

Plan shots in notes, draw layouts for a model, and bring sound into a video.

Notes, sketches and audio are the nodes that are not images or video. You write the plan in notes, draw the layout a model should follow in a sketch, and bring in audio for the clips that need sound.

Text notes

Press T, or open + and choose Text Note. Click into the note and type. Notes are plain text. Use them for a brief, a script, a shot list or a reminder to yourself.

Hover a note and two menus appear. The colors sit below the note. Click a dot to change the note's color, so you can sort notes at a glance.

The menu on the right lists what the note can start. Each action opens a new placeholder next to the note, with the note's text as the prompt. A placeholder is an empty shot waiting to run.

ActionWhat it opens
Generate ImageAn image placeholder.
Edit & MergeAn edit placeholder. Add the images to change, then run.
Generate VideoA video placeholder.
Run AnalysisOnly on a draft analysis note. Runs the analysis with this text.

If the note is empty, you see "Add some text first".

To turn a shot list into shots, write one note per shot and press Generate Image on each. For a kurta catalogue, that could be one note for the front view, one for the back and one for the fabric close-up.

Sketches

A sketch is a drawing you make on the board. You use it to show a model a layout, a pose or where things go.

There are two ways to start one:

  • Sketch in the + menu opens a blank page.
  • Sketch on image, in an image's menu, opens the editor with that image underneath, so you can draw on top of it.

The tools run along the top of the editor.

ToolUse
SelectMove or resize something you already drew.
PenFreehand lines.
TextType a label onto the page.
ShapesRectangle, ellipse, line, or arrow.
EraserRub out lines.

Pick an ink color and a stroke width, and use Undo and Redo as you go. Press the check mark, labeled Attach sketch, when you are done. The sketch saves as an image node. A sketch on an image appears to the right of the original, with a line to it.

From there the sketch works like any other image. Use it as a reference in Edit & Merge, or pick it into a slot on the generate bar with Canvas. Sketching is free.

Audio

You can get audio onto the board two ways. Upload an audio file from the + menu, or choose Extract audio under Audio on a video menu.

An audio node shows its waveform, with play and pause. Hover it to Download or Delete it. If an extraction does not work, the node says Audio extraction failed. Delete the node and try again.

To use audio in a shot, pick it into an audio slot on the generate bar. Reference mode on Seedance 2.0 takes up to 3 audio clips and Seedance 2.5 takes up to 10. Lipsync models need a voice track. See Extract frames and audio.
