Analyze video

Turn a clip into a timestamped breakdown you can reshoot from. It spends no canvas credits.

Analyze turns a clip into a timestamped shot breakdown you can reshoot from or copy into your next prompt. Hover a video and choose Analyze.

Chromatic adds a text note to the right of the clip and connects the two. The note starts as a draft prompt, and a toast asks you to edit it and then run the analysis. Nothing is sent until you run it.

The draft asks for a timestamped breakdown a person could reshoot from. It covers camera and shot size, transitions, color palette, visual language, how a product is shown, the objects in frame and the audio, including pace, hits and music cues. Rewrite the prompt when you want a narrower read. A hook-only note for a UGC ad, a product-only note and a cut list all come from the same button.

When the run finishes, the analysis replaces the note. If the run fails, the note keeps the error so you can run it again.

Video analysis spends no canvas credits. You still need to be signed in, and the video has to be on the board already. Generating, editing, upscaling and removing a background are the jobs that charge.

Use the note as the script for your next generation. Copy a shot from it into an image or video prompt, or leave it on the board as the reference for a scene you are matching.

Press Tab to jump to the newest node, which is this note because Analyze just created it. Run the analysis, then press Tab again if the view has drifted. See Shortcuts.
