When the canvas is empty
What to put on a new board first, and where the tools are.
A new canvas has the toolbar on the left and Light on the right. The toolbar holds the + menu, select and hand, the section tool and your library. Each node gets its own menu when you hover over it.
Everything you add is a node. Images, videos, audio, notes and sketches are all nodes.
Add your first node
Open the + at the top of the left toolbar.
| Item | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Upload | Images, video or audio from your computer. |
| Text Note | A note for a brief or a shot list. The shortcut is T. |
| Sketch | A blank page to draw a layout on. |
| Generate Image | An empty shot. Pick a model, write a prompt and press Run. |
| Generate Video | The same, for video. |
You can also paste an image or a video straight onto the board. Audio needs Upload.
Work on what you added
Hover over an image and a menu opens on its right edge, with tools like Upscale, Remove Background, Adjust Color & Light and Video. A video has its own menu, with tools like Edit Video and Analyze.
The strip at the top of the card shows the pixel size and has download, fullscreen and delete. The heart saves the node to your library. If the node came from a prompt, the prompt sits under the card with a copy button.
To see a finished image or video full screen, double-click it. On a phone, double-tap.
Find your latest result
Press Tab and the view jumps to the newest node, which is usually the shot you just ran. See Shortcuts.
Talk instead of clicking
Tell Light what you want and it puts the images, edits and video on the board for you. To speak instead of typing, hold Option, or Alt on Windows. See Ask Light and Voice.
