Sections

Keep a long board readable by grouping nodes into labeled areas you can resize, collapse or share.

A section keeps a busy board readable. It draws a labeled rectangle around a group of nodes, so the takes for your silver ring reel sit in one place and the sneaker product shots sit in another. Use one section per shot, per product, or per round of takes.

Draw one

Click the section tool on the left toolbar. Its icon is a stack of rectangles. Then drag a box over empty space. Every node whose center is inside the box joins the section.

Chromatic names the first section Section 1, the next Section 2, and so on. You can rename, resize and move a section. When you move it, its nodes move with it.

From a selection

You can also select the nodes first and skip drawing. Press the create section icon on the multi-select bar, and the section wraps the nodes with some padding.

Collapse

Collapse a section to fold a group out of the way. The nodes stay in the section, and they drop out of the Tab search, so Tab never jumps into a group you folded away.

Share it

To send one section for review, select the nodes in it and press the share icon on the bar above the group. See Share a review.
